Joe Roger

Life is big. And dark. And beautiful in its stark, unforgiving way. Joe Roger tries to get that into every image, the Big Picture in all its harsh glory. His work is usually black and white, ink or watercolor, though he has been known to use coffee, spray paint, scoring, even color to pour his secrets onto the page.

Joe left his home in Miami at thirteen, swooping in and out of city art schools over the next few years, landing at the Ringling School of Art. Now he views himself as something of a traveling journalist, using his art to document the evil and the good of life in ways that he cannot achieve with words. At the moment, he is busy working to pull his cryptic, magical visions out of the cracks in the white spaces.

Joe's art will be featured in the November issue of We Merge Magazine at www.wemergetalent.com, and he will also have a show on the great date of Friday the 13th, titled A Night At The Studios. The art show will be held November 13, 2009, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at
3050 NE 9th Avenue, Oakland Park, Florida (across the street from the Pearl Art Store).
